Entering aloneness

November 3, 2009

happy woman2-saidaonline The source of  this post is Rajat. Who asked a question in his comment…where he asked how to enter deeply into aloneness?…thanks Rajat, the response inspired this post!!

Here is what i had written in one of the chapters of a book on Rajmarg… hope this helps

The first step is discovering that one is alone and experiencing that aloneness in differnt situations…like a crowded place, in a meeting, while making love, while with friends… once you begin to discover the aloneness…begin to discover what all you do to run away from that feeling. Watch everything that you do. Some start eating, some start calling friends, some get on to FB ;-) , Some smoke. You are not supposed to stop anything, just keep observing.

When one begins to just be with feeling of loneliness. One discoveres it is not as difficult feeling to be with as we think it is. And as you begin to be with that feeling, you get in touch with the deep yearning for something. This is a crucial point in the journey.

When u can be with it, slowly you begin to gain freedom and then being alone is no more an issue. Slowly it turns into a non-threatning experience, then joy and then ease. And finally when you can experientially be with this aloneness there is no more fear.

When you reach that state you are now free to love . To love without the fear of being alone.

You discover your renewed ability to love deeply, you discover you have a huge reservoir of love which is abundant…and then all you want to do is give… now you are ready to love…and the object of love or love doesn’t matter.

Also now you begin to fall in love with your own self.

- excepts from Rajmarg…Bringing awareness to loving…self and the other

There are some Rajmarg meditative excercises that i suggest, during this time. If you would like to know more, drop me a line. Wish you Happy aloneness ;-)

Have you read Eckhart Tolle, Raj? Am sure you will love his books. ‘Practicing the Power of Now’ has been my favourite and is perhaps one of the most meaningful and useful books written ever.
