Final surrender – To yourself ;-)
People go around the world to find whom to trust and surrender fully. They go from one master to other. Like we go shopping. Discarding one after the other. The fortunate ones come back home to themselves.
If you carefully see, you are afraid of surrendering to yourself fully.
Constantly seeking approval, wondering will I be right or wrong. Trying to match up some one else’s ideas. And thats where the possibility of surrender gets killed.
When you begin to trust yourself fully, you discover the joy of spontaneity. Being spontaneous is the first step to love yourself and honoring your spontaneity is the first step to surrendering to the divine within. When you return to the innocent, spontaneous child that you were, you will begin to taste a joy which is sweeter than anything else in the world.
A gentle nudge. Ask yourself ” What do I spontaneously want to do in this moment?” and then just do that. No matter how stupid or soulful the thought looks like…Honoring your spontaneity is a great path to reclaiming your joy in life. Do it and see what unfolds…you will find a new you emerging everyday, that you have kept locked in the closet of the known. Surrender to yourself and set it free.

I stumbled upon the same realization you mentioned above after having a mystical experience at a Catholic funeral. Wgile there, I felt that the little spiritual growth I had up to that point was equal to that of the priest serving the mass.
I was (am) one with the world while in meditation and I try to achieve that same state while conscious, that is, while walking, driving a car and even writing a comment and posting my beliefs.
I like what you have to say. I may incorporate it into my psyche.
